Privacy & security

Your mail is yours. Here's exactly how we keep it that way.

Plain answers, no fine print. If anything here is unclear, call 817-422-8663 and ask.

Where your mail lives

On mail servers K-Jensen LLC owns and runs in the United States, on redundant disks, with an encrypted copy offsite every night. Nothing is resold or run through an ad network.

Who can read it

You, and anyone you give access to. We don't scan your mail for advertising. Automatic spam and virus filtering happens on our servers. A person on our side looks at a mailbox only when you ask us to fix something in it, or when the law requires it, and we'll tell you if we legally can.

Signing in

You sign in with your Kagen account, using a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello) or a password with a code. Your mailbox password is never stored in the browser. Mail apps like Outlook use their own app passwords, which you can revoke one by one.

Reading mail safely

  • Messages open in a locked-down frame where nothing in an email can run code.
  • Remote images stay blocked until you allow them, so senders can't tell when you opened their mail.
  • Known tracking links and pixels are stripped.
  • Attachments are scanned for viruses.

Nobody can fake your address

We publish SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain. They tell other mail servers which mail really comes from you, so scammers can't pass as your business, and your real mail lands in inboxes, not spam.

Apple Intelligence in the iPhone app

Summaries, reply suggestions and writing help run on your iPhone with Apple's on-device models. Your mail isn't sent to us, to Apple or to anyone else for these features. If your iPhone doesn't support Apple Intelligence, the app works the same without them.

Leaving

Your mail is standard email. Export it any time, or ask us, and we'll help move it wherever you're going.

Who can use Kagen Mail

Kagen Mail is for adults who live in the United States, and isn't available to residents of Texas, Utah, Louisiana or California. We check where sign-ups and sign-ins come from with an IP-location database kept on our own servers; no outside company sees your address for it. Details: Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. IP geolocation by DB-IP.
